Use læse when talking about reading printed or digital text: læse en bog (read a book), læse avisen (read the newspaper), læse højt (read aloud). Common forms: at læse – læser – læste – har læst. The Danish vowel 'æ' sounds somewhat like the 'a' in 'cat' but a bit longer; stress is on the first syllable.
