Used for people or animals moving quickly on foot (exercise, chasing, hurrying). It can also appear in idiomatic expressions (e.g., starting to run: 'ekkuri') and is conjugated regularly (mi kuras, vi kuris, ni kuros). For machines or programs 'funkcii' or 'ruli' are often used instead.
