大丈夫 is used to ask if someone is alright, to reassure, or to say something is acceptable or safe. Polite form is 大丈夫です; casual is 大丈夫. When modifying a noun use the connector な (e.g. 大丈夫な人). It can also be used to decline offers (meaning "No, thanks"), so pay attention to context and tone.
