Use scire for factual knowledge or knowing how to do something. It commonly appears with an accusative + infinitive (Scio te venire = I know that you are coming) or in indirect questions (Nescio quid faciam = I do not know what to do). Nosco and cognoscere are related: noscere often emphasizes coming to know (perfect form novi frequently means 'I know' in practice), while cognoscere can stress learning or investigation.
