Buscar is a very common -ar verb used for both physical searches (looking for an object) and abstract searches (seeking information, solutions, or people). Note the spelling change in the preterite first person: yo busqué (c -> qu) to keep the /k/ sound. It is also used with many prepositions (buscar a alguien = to look for someone).
