Trigedasleng

Trigedasleng

From lingoXpress, the open language reference.

Trigedasleng is a post-apocalyptic creole descended from English, spoken by the Grounders in The 100.

Description

Trigedasleng (literally 'forest language') is the constructed language spoken by the Grounders in the CW television series The 100. Created by conlang master David J. Peterson, it is designed as a creole that evolved from American English over several generations after a nuclear apocalypse. This makes it uniquely accessible — many words are recognizably derived from English but have shifted in pronunciation and meaning. The language features simplified grammar compared to English, with new idioms reflecting the Grounders' warrior culture.
