what Stara Godina is

Stara Godina, or New Year's Eve, is a vibrant celebration in Croatia, marked by public concerts, fireworks, and family gatherings. The day begins with preparations for the evening's festivities, including decorating homes and streets with colorful lights and ornaments. In major cities like Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik, open-air concerts featuring local and international artists are held in central squares, drawing large crowds.

Most Croatians spend the night at a doček, a New Year's welcome, either at home with a table of francuska salata, cold cuts, sarma and fritule, or on a square: Trg bana Jelačića in Zagreb and the Riva in Split host free concerts, with pop and folk stars playing until the odbrojavanje, the countdown to midnight. At twelve the fireworks go up, corks pop and everyone shouts 'Sretna Nova!', with kisses all round, and the first of January is a quiet public holiday for sleeping it off.

how scoring works
How you are ranked
1AccuracyEvery correct answer counts the same. Anything you leave unanswered counts as wrong.
2Time, only to break tiesTime is read only when two people have the same accuracy. It never beats a better score.
For example
1100%3:41Marta
2100%4:02Joan — same score, slower
397%2:10Núria — fastest, still third

Practise as often as you like, all year. The scored run happens once, while the competition is open, and cannot be retaken.
