Rozumieť is used to say you grasp or comprehend something. In Slovak it commonly takes the dative: rozumieť niekomu / rozumieť niečomu (to understand someone / something). The stress is always on the first syllable (RO-zu-myetch). Use rozumiem for 'I understand' and nerozumiem for 'I don't understand.'
