About Lingua Franca Nova

Lingua Franca Nova (LFN or Elefen) was created by psychologist C. George Boeree in 1998. Inspired by natural creole languages, LFN draws its vocabulary primarily from French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan. It features extremely simple grammar: no conjugations, no declensions, no grammatical gender, and SVO word order. The language aims to be immediately recognizable to the ~1 billion speakers of Romance languages worldwide. It has an active online community, a Wikipedia edition, and published literature.
